Anna Mae Releases First Album For The Romantics

Alternative pop artist, Anna Mae, shares an intimate and dreamy portrait of life with her debut album, For The Romantics. The enchanting alt-pop album, available now, tells a story of sweet nostalgia and discovering romance in every complex facet of life — in heartbreak, love, independence, and growing up. Born out of the whirlwind of 2020, this album is the culmination of Anna Mae’s personal life experiences, the highs and the lows.

The album opens with a 0:39 second track For The Romantics (Intro) narrated by Anna Mae, expressing her story of falling in love with heartbreak, loneliness and eventually herself and life.

Ethereal, 007 inspired track Bond Girl is the story of a classy, mysterious, strong willed woman who knows her worth. This is an alternative pop anthem for anyone stepping into their identity and owning it with grace and strength.

Chasing the Fame is a whimsical, dreamlike bop lyrically focused on the drug-like effects of being drawn to the Hollywood, paradise-like expectations culture has set. The lyrics expose a push and pull of the self-destructing idols with a self awareness of the power that is held in building the life that you choose.

Track 4 is titled, Hallelujah. A vulnerable side of Anna Mae is revealed as she asks the questions, “Could you be my hallelujah?” while contemplating her feelings of loneliness and uncertainty that we can all relate to.

Roaring 20s was released November 2021  as a sparkly single preceding the album release. This single romanticizes the simplicities of life, like dancing with your friends while you’re single and dreaming of who you may fall in love with one day. Roaring 20’s is a reflection of your 20’s and a contemplative conversation with oneself about how they will perceive their Roaring 20’s in the future.

Picasso is truly a work of art. Jokes aside, this is one of the more upbeat tracks on the album. Anna Mae is truly a wordsmith and her creativity and quirky euphemisms are on display in this track.

Coming of Age takes us on a nostalgic journey of growing up and all the discomfort and heartbreak that comes with it. This is a beautiful reflection on seasons of life and the formative role they play.

Have you ever wished that you could blink and the anguish of life would dissapear? Blink is a dreamlike tune that takes you on the journey of a young woman trying to make it, struggling with the feeling of being enough and craving the experience of love and can’t escape the emotions.

The story of young lovers accomplishing the American Dream and feeling too comfortable, Trouble in Paradise, is a plea for excitement. The lyrics, “I’ve got all that I want and more so why am I still looking for trouble?” is a cathartic expression of desire.

“The songs and melodies handpicked for this album are so special to me. They feel like an extension of myself.” shared Anna Mae. “It’s my ultimate dream project. It’s me processing my own life experiences and hopefully capturing them in a way that lets you hear your story in mine.” – Anna Mae

We recommend listening to this album in order for the full experience.
