Frank Ivy is most likely a name that many would not be familiar with. Some might be more familiar Frank Rosato who led Why These Coyotes until venturing out on his solo endeavor as Frank Ivy in 2018.
As of yet, Ivy is not a household name but he has been releasing songs over the past few years (mostly covers). He co-wrote his first commercially successful “Dance Around the Fire” (performed by Why These Coyotes) which has accrued over 10 million streams across all platforms.
“New State of Mind” is a rousing and optimistic pop track. While it clocks in at just under 3 minutes it still carries a melodic ambiance throughout. It’s upbeat and creates a vibe that makes you want to get on your feet and dance. While it may be hard to distinctly pick out a specific influence you will be sure to identify many within his work. It is equal parts lively and laid back.
“New State of Mind” is the first installment of his upcoming 3-single pack, due out 3/24. “It’s a hopeful and exciting up-tempo record about moving on from the past, and not letting anything hold you back,” says Frank. “We zoom out and start thinking about fate, purpose and the perception of time.”
If you’re a fan of Tame Impala, Kid Bloom or even Beck then Frank Ivy is someone that might pique your interest and is a name that we should keep an eye on.
“New State of Mind” is available now on all major digital streaming platforms.
