Wendy’s Announces Training Songs Remix Album Ft Daedelus, HEALTH

Wendy’s has always been an innovator, be it their modern presence as social media savages or their early days of earworm training songs like “Hot Drinks”. And while the restaurant chain has captured the hearts of each subsequent generation in a different way, they’ve finally found a way to unite everyone in a way that few companies have dared to.

In the 80s, Wendy’s was known on the inner circles for their training videos which featured catchy jingles about how to prepare food and drinks with enough conviction to even rival Chick Fil A. Sadly, these songs have been hidden away to the corners of the internet. While it’s clear Wendy’s has always had a vested interest in the music industry, evident in their banter with bands on Twitter, it’s starting to become clear just how deep their connections go.

Now announcing Internet Beef, a remix anthology of Wendy’s hits like “Hot Drinks”, “The Fry Guy”, “Chili Can Be Served With Cheese”, and several deep cuts, demos, and formerly-unreleased tracks.

This would be exciting enough in its own right, but the team have brought on an excellent and diverse cast of producers to bring the project into the 21st century. HEALTH have taken the once-lowkey “Cold Drinks” and resurrected it with danceable energy. Dryw Owens’ surprising take on “Grill Skills” is one of the most unexpected moments, seeing the emo-rock producer take on this funk classic. Other guests include Daedelus, Crystal Castles, Psychic Babble, and Nathan Kane. The cast spans a variety of genres and degrees of notoriety which honors the diversity of the original tracks.

In preparation for Internet Beef‘s April 23rd release date, Wendy’s will be premiering a new music video next Friday for the much anticipated Daedelus remix of fan-favorite “Hot Drinks”. The video is reported to “embody the spirit of the original, while incorporating an undeniable modern aesthetic”.

Along with the video release, Wendy’s will open up pre-orders for digital and vinyl versions of the compilation. Here’s hoping we can get our hands on the exclusive red variant.
