Fingers

Fingers is a Columbus based jam band that knows how to simultaneously be heavy hitting and gorgeous at the same time. You have to appreciate their Facebook bio: “We are a precious metal band.” Though in jest, that descriptor is actually pretty accurate. Just take a listen to their single “Stay For Days,” up for free download on their bandcamp, for example. After you’re done with that watch their CIMU (Columbus Indie Music Union) live session.

Levi Weaver

This one man band act describes his sound as post-folk. Ethereal, organic, and earthy are all accurate adjectives of Weaver’s style, although he’s pretty good at remaining accessible, too. With a rising trend of one-man-loop acts in America (see Bernhoft or The Saturday Giant for other examples) this is definitely a man to watch. Take a look at his cool rendition of Radiohead’s “Idioteque” and his original “Spirit First” below:
