Ray Moore recommends: DAISYHEAD

Daisyhead are a part of this new wave of emo bands that are making noise right now. Of those bands Daisyhead very well could be the best. The song writing these young lads have shown is a blast to the past of bands like Christine Front Drive, Sunny Day Real Estate and Jawbreaker. And their live show is one to die for. You may want to bring a box of tissue – lol. They recently just released a split album with Have Mercy which very well could be the release of the year.

Topher Parks recommends: KING’S KALEIDOSCOPE

The opening riff to Kings Kaleidoscope’s “Felix Culpa” says it all, before a mini-horn section adds a few more layers to the song. The bassline is infectiously groovy, and the back-and-forth between the two drummers rocks. On top of all the musical intricacy, frontman Chad Gardner’s powerful vocals only act as a medium for the worship-filled lyrics. The track concludes with a piano and trombone-driven outro behind Gardner’s singing. “Felix Culpa” is just one of six tunes from their new EP Live in Color, which releases as a free download for one week starting Tuesday on Emery-founded record label Bad Christian Music.
