The Souls on Fire tour held a variety of artists from a wide range of music genres. Each performance had a unique vibe which made the show very enjoyable. It allows you to be more open-minded towards different types of music. The show started out with Bleach Blonde and Hearts & Hands, two somewhat hardcore bands. Both bands have new albums out and I feel as though this tour is going to help increase their fan base tremendously. High energy is always a relieving thing to see in a band. The show then took a significant turn when Kyle Lucas took the stage. Since it was a rap performance, I was honestly not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with his music and he interacted with the crowd in a very fun way. Jonny Craig and him even did a few songs together and you can tell how much they love performing along side with each other. Those two together was the highlight of the show for me. Things then slowed down when William Beckett took the stage. He seemed to be the “innocent” artist on the tour. With nothing but a laptop and an acoustic guitar, he did not disappoint. His performance went a little longer than expected and Jonny Craig’s set was suppose to be cut down but Jonny did not let that happen. So he had the show run late so the whole set could be performed. Of course Jonny Craig’s set was clean, flawless and full of intimate energy. He had his DJ Captain Midnight & guitar player the Heavy Empty accompany him. Despite all the changes he has made in his music career, it was nice to see so many people still showing him support. I walked away from this show with a greater understanding of how well different types of music intermingle with each other.
