Naø, as publicist Naø Glover is known by musically isn’t on her first go at being an artist. She is perhaps best known as the former frontperson of metalcore You The Few, but that wasn’t what made me want to share this song with you.

Put simply, I was looking for an artist submitted track to highlight; Naø is clearly a hustler and this track carries lot of heart and vibe.

The song might no longer be metalcore, but its content is no less heavy. Naø‘s desperation and grappling with emotional turmoil is very evident, and presented in a way meant to be carthartic for the listener. She explains in a press release:

“Even more than the lyrics, the delivery of the song has always been where its power lives,” Naø adds. “Performing it live used to take everything out of me, and I wanted that to come through even stronger in this recording—I wanted to feel the weight of every single time I sang it.”

Releasing a song over 6 and a half minutes long is unorthodox for an artist starting, or starting anew. Given Naø‘s resume, I’ll trust her instinct here.
