Niche Fest Spotlight: Immersion 2025

By Ryan G

Immersion 2025 is a free, faith based event taking place in Circleville, OH on Saturday, August 9th. Niche festivals are on the rise in the US. This includes the alternative Christian space, which includes events like Audiofeed and Holy Smoke. Immersion is a youth-group oriented event (though anyone can attend) that blends the best of metal, hip hop, and indie music on the rise with a Christian-worldview expressed. Below are a few of the guests we think are worth seeing.

Convictions

The worshipful metalcore group from northwestern Ohio has seen a big surge in popularity in the post-pandemic years, in part driven by entitles such as KingdomCore, and in part by vocalist Mike Felker’s guest vocal spots on several noteworthy artists’ songs; many have taken notice of HolyName, Tommy Green from Sleeping Giant’s new more liturgical heavy music project that began during Covid. Expect massive hooks, massive pits, and the commanding presence of Mike Felker over the stage and audience.

Trulah

This Nashville songwriter certainly doesn’t fit the stereotype of a girl with a guitar singing about Jesus. Her vocals are rich. Her style mixes indie sensibility with jazz arrangements and even a bit of bossa nova. “Be My Glory” is equal parts uplifting as it is soothing.

Rave Jesus

Who says Jesus can’t get hype? Rave Jesus is here to keep the party going as trance-tinged EDM mixes with worship. I could see this fitting right in at Lost Lands, Breakaway, or TomorrowLand festivals. Same euphoric sounds, but with a distinction in where the emotion is directed.

Seven Harris

10 years old and been rapping about Jesus since he was 9 (as far as I can tell)? What’s not to like? Hooks galore with this kid. The crowd is gonna be so hype during this set.

No Treaty

Swarm the stage and scream “Hosanna!” Just do it.

Dreaded Dale

This act from Kentucky manages to be down to earth and brutal at the same time. Frontman Mykey Root has a huge heart for people that shows both in his onstage passion as well as his offstage conversations.

SafeKept

Emo-tinged worship never sounded so good. Miah Wagner has decades of experience in both formal church ministry and in the Billboard charting pop punk band The Great Transparency. If you’re uncertain about your mood this Saturday, SafeKept will cheer you up!

Hello Luna

This alt-act is kicking things off with a fierce blend of dark pop and hard rock. Come early! Songs like “Grim Reaper” and “Deathly Lullaby” beckon you to partake in this new era for the Columbus, OH project. You won’t be able to get these songs out of your head.

$auce Wayne

Are you ready for some hip hop that’s holy and wholesome? $auce Wayne has got your back. His bars are informed by a versatile resume as well as hard lessons learned. This artist is eager to both impart wisdom and celebrate the Lord’s works with everyone at Immersion.

Tommy Green (speaker)

Tommy Green is a wearer of many hats. He’s been around the block. You might know him as a frontman for metal groups (Sleeping Giant, or more recently HOLYNAME). You may know him as the leader of nonprofits Run Against Traffic or Rally Against Traffic, two organizations that seek to get people in action against one of worst issues of our time. To quote a friend of ours, when Tommy is around “The Holy Spirit is in the house!”

As previously mentioned, this event is FREE and takes place at the Pickaway County Fairgrounds. Read more about Immersion Festival at the official website. See the official stage schedules below (note that Monarchs to Oblivion is no longer appearing). Other notable activities include an escape room, food trucks, and gaming tournament
