Stalgia: This band brings vibes of The XX mixed with a bit of Lorde and even Banks. Minimalist IDM meets R&B. Even turned up, the music still feels quiet and subdued. The more I think about it the more I think The XX needs to take this project out on tour. The instrumentals aren’t quite at the level of Jamie XX, but they’re close. I find this hypnotic. Yøuth: The project of Julian Dente from Nashville is beginning to make waves across the region and soon he will be going on tour. For fans of Halfnoise, Fever Fever, and even some early Coldplay (although Dente doesn’t sound like Chris Martin, as much as you might want him t0). In all seriousness though, I’m digging this project, which I have discovered via other Nashville bands – notably Cardboard Kids and Golden Youth. Listen to “Start Again” below:
