Premiere: Label Me Lecter has something to tell you in “Dear World”

By Ryan G

Brian “B.YONEST” Penn and Mike Rist are a formidable duo. Don’t let that lead in line from this article intimidate you, though. They’re really nice, genuine guys. But they know how to pack a punch when they want to.

The project known as “label me lecter” has functioned as the main creative outlet for B, who is the primary songwriter. Rist fleshes things out in the studio, adding a sense of depth and power to the alternative hip hop songs, in a way that forces you to pay attention. Your chest will vibrate at the show and you will move.

The duo released Sirens X Silence in early 2016, and have spent the past two years hammering these songs into the consciousness of anyone that will listen—albeit strategically and in a really fun way. So it follows that their forthcoming release, dreams, would sound like a logical continuation of what they’ve started.

“Dear World” is label me lecter’s message to the world for what they have coming, and they want you to listen. The song is a full on lyrical assault peppered with creative fills accentuated by a fun hook. Tuned Up is pleased to be premiering this track. What do you hear?

label me lecter will release dreams later this spring. They have a headlining show coming up at A&R Music Bar in Columbus, Ohio on April 27th. Tickets may be found here.
