We’re pleased to premiere the music video for Baby Got Back Talk’s new single “Model Minority,” a catchy pop punk hook-fest that throws the middle finger to anyone claiming that being marginalized is “in” these days.

Baby Got Back Talk has been making waves through the DIY scene, with Alt Press naming them in their list of 17 Black Alternative Bands Leading the Next Generation. And listening to this track, it’s no wonder why.

The video is an homage to “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” by My Chemical Romance, borrowing its juxtaposition of inspiring title cards between scenes of private school life. It’s not out of the question that “Model Minority” could become an anthem of similar importance for queer folks and POC in the punk scene today.
