Currently, Ella Rosa is not a household or even a common name. However, that is bound to change with the release of her latest single, “Not Cute.”

Ella is an up-and-coming R&B musician that has been featured in tastemaker publications like PAPER, Notion and Wonderland with her songwriting work landing her on Spotify’s Notable editorial playlist. With her first releases in 2020 marking an introduction to a journey that led to the SXSW stages in 2022 with an impressive slate of live shows, fresh singles and a clear creative vision.

The LA-based (UK-born) artist wrote “Not Cute” about the pressure she had put on herself and how impatient she was getting while trying to “figure out” where her artistry lies. “Not Cute” is an airy ethereal track that plays strongly to its R&B sensibilities with a strong essence of early 2000s pop. While the sound may be reminiscent of something that may have been found on Top 40 radio twenty years ago it feels fresh and new without coming across as gimmicky.

Ella Rosa is a name to be on the lookout for in 2023.
