Taylor Kelly Releases “Let You Go”

Philly-by-way-of-upstate-NY songwriter Taylor Kelly is an eclectic soul with a slant toward R&B and smooth, big band arrangements. Her latest single, “Let You Go”, is a fury of groovy bass, lively horns, and a certain looming dissonance that calls to mind Mariah Carey and similar artists from the 90s and 00s. The result is a sound that feels classic – though it’s not simply a play at marketing nostalgia. Lyrically, the track contrasts the fanfare of the instrumentals with the pain of a failed relationship. Check it out below.

The following musicians also contributed to the track:

Piano – Marc Kaplan

Guitar – Eoin Murphy

Bass – Matt Keppler

Drums – Devon Adams

Trumpet – Andrew Carson

Tenor Sax – Paul Melhus

Trombone – Hailey Brinnel
