trashed – happy in hindsight

Inspiration isn’t easy to come by these days, as the mundane existence overwhelms, and the days are steadily declining. The decay is building, and even the pretty flowers are dying before their time. Changing your mindset can be crucial and breaking away from the chaos in your life is vital. Trashed is this band that speaks their minds, as their inspiration decays, and their thoughts and feelings become their saving grace on a punk record they’ve painstakingly crafted.

Happy In Hindsight has all the ingredients to be something special. It has those empowering, fast-paced guitar moments, and the lyrics detail pessimistic traits. The band is also lost in their own heads and being lost there can cause eventful situations. Committing to their muse will only aid them in their pursuit of validation and peace, but on this release, the negativity clutches on like a desperate lover.

To them, it’s a significant process, and Trashed is only trying to rise above the depressive notions and the darkness, while playing their songs well. Though this is a cathartic release, it doesn’t ruin the record’s appeal. Pain rails in, and the act isn’t shy about that.

Opening song Decay begins with a sturdy riff and morose lyricism. Their minds are locked in here, and they’re trying their hardest to disband from the rot. Memories is a fast song too, with intense guitar riffs and sombre lyrics. The memories keep the pain away, for a slender while, at least. Not My Day is an angst ridden track, powerful in its execution and punk aura. The band again, describe low moments, times when love poisons the link between lust and normality.

Trashed shed their emotions here. Happy In Hindsight is a dark, though progressive, record, with so many highlights that showcase the band’s talents.
